States Rights and CA Legalized Pot

I'm an ultra conservative..... but that idiot this morning 3/29/10 US Rep Istook, just drove a nail into states rights on Fox News. He cites Supreme Court precedent to argue against CA attempt to legalize weed. I am not a big supporter of that issue, but if we are to have states rights, then that is an issue we conservatives might have to compromise on.... Weed in CA & no abortion in KY. Homosexual marriage in NY but not in TN. I wrote a piece years ago called "I Pled The Tenth"
If we want part of the pie (our rights) then we must allow other states their part of the pie (their rights).... can we conservatives compromise for our gain and can the liberal leftist compromise for their gain.
